Brown Dust 2 Gear Guide

Brown Dust 2 gear looks like a second gacha and plays like a shopping list. You do not need a perfect substat spreadsheet to leave the tutorial. You need one exclusive weapon on the costume you are actually raising, HP/DEF on the body that tanks, and the courage to leave four other 5-stars in starter iron. This page is that list. Exclusive weapons first

Many 5-star costumes have an EX weapon recipe tied to that kit. It is not a fashion item. It is the first craft that actually changes a number you feel in Story Pack elites and Fiend openers. Priority:

1. The carry you picked from Infinite Draw or 12-Pick — Justia, Eleaneer, Schera, Kry, or whoever you refused to reset. See reroll.
2. The main buffer you decided to plus (Teresse / Liberta / Diana / Lathel / Helena lines). Supports scale the whole raid. See supports.
3. Nobody else until those two are on their EX or the best SR you can currently smash.

If the recipe needs a mat that only drops from a pack you have not cleared, clear the pack. Crafting is not a substitute for story stamina.

What the stats are for

• ATK / MATK — the carry that hits the tile. Physical and magic are different; mix them only when a pack forces it.
• HP% and DEF — the unit that stands in S1, the chainer who is supposed to get slapped, the body you cannot afford to lose on turn one of Fiend Hunter.
• Crit rate / crit damage — only on costumes that can crit. Fixed-damage kits (early Justia teaching costumes) ignore DEF and also cannot crit. Putting crit on them is a waste.
• Chain damage — the unit that actually stacks the weak tile in hunter and Guild Raid.
• Element / property — if the fiend resists your carry, no amount of gold plating fixes it. Swap the costume, do not reforge in panic.

Substats are a bonus. A correct main stat on the right body beats a “god roll” on a costume you never slot.

The even-spread trap

New Masters craft four SR sets because the UI shows four empty slots. That is how powder disappears and Fiend still feels impossible. Raise one carry + two supports in gear the same way you raise them in plus ranks. The gacha planner skip rule applies here too: if you cannot finish the craft this month, do not start a fifth set.

Collab weeks (see Chained Soldier 2) will tempt you into a new EX for a limited you will not plus. Exclusive weapons on a +0 limited are posters. Exclusive weapons on a +3 Liberta are raids.

Where the mats come from

• Story and character packs — the honest farm. Play them.
• Event shops — costume copies first, unique craft mats second, furniture last. Events.
• Guild / raid currency — same three bodies as above.
• Codes — Refining Powder from monthly and radio coupons belongs on the craft you already started.
• PC and mobile share the inventory. Do not craft twice. PC client.
